Russian Heavy Draft
The Russian Heavy Draft or Russian Draft is a breed of draft horse that was first bred in Imperial Russia. Ardennes stallions that were put to local mares. It shares early ancestry with the Novoolexandrian Draught of Ukraine. It is the most common of all the former USSR draft breeds.
Also called Pусский тяжеловоз (Russian), Russkii Tyazhelovoz, Russkaya Tyazhelovoznaya and Russian Ardennes.
Colors found: Chestnut, Roan, Bay, Gray and Black.
Please note I am trying to track down pedigree information, which is hard to find for any of the Russian draft breeds. So those that have unknown parents, will get parents as soon as I can find information. :)
